Grade table and rules
The Registrar's table, the rounding rule and how a CGPA becomes a percentage.
The eleven grades COMSATS Islamabad uses in a semester system. No A+.
| Grade | Marks | Grade points |
|---|---|---|
| A | 85 and above | 4.00 |
| A- | 80 to 84 | 3.66 |
| B+ | 75 to 79 | 3.33 |
| B | 71 to 74 | 3.00 |
| B- | 68 to 70 | 2.66 |
| C+ | 64 to 67 | 2.33 |
| C | 61 to 63 | 2.00 |
| C- | 58 to 60 | 1.66 |
| D+ | 54 to 57 | 1.30 |
| D | 50 to 53 | 1.00 |
| F | Below 50 | 0.00 |
A mark is rounded on its tenths digit before it is graded: 70.5 and 70.6 round up to 71, 70.4 rounds down to 70.
A CGPA converts to the minimum percentage of its band, never interpolated: 3.00 reads as 71%, 3.66 as 80%, and 4.00 as 85%.

What this tool simplifies
The university's Rules and Regulations are only available from the Registrar, not published in full here. Splitting a course's marks into sessional and terminal components is a common pattern, not a fixed university rule, so this tool asks for one combined mark or grade per course rather than guessing a split that varies by course and instructor.
